Through SOCIO, Enrique directed a GIS mapping project with 30 high school students in the wake of Superstorm Sandy. Over the course of a week, students identified open gas stations in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut and shared the information online. They also created a Google Voice account to provide driving directions to desperate motorists. The mapping project was recognized by the White House, the U.S. Department of Energy, FEMA, NBC, the New York Times, and the Huffington Post. Locally, students were recognized by the Franklin Township Mayor and the Board of Education.
